Dis-Chem Pharmacies invites energetic and driven individuals to join their Retail Cosmetics Learnership Programme (NQF 3) in East London. This hands-on programme is tailored to equip you with the skills, experience, and confidence to thrive in a dynamic retail environment.
Minimum Requirements
Essential
- Matric / Grade 12
- Willing and able to work retail hours
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Advantageous

Previous experience in a beauty/cosmetics retail environment
Key Responsibilities
Stock Control
- Monitor product expiry dates and report damaged or expired stock
- Maintain fully stocked and neat shelves
- Rotate stock and follow proper stock control procedures
- Participate in stock takes and assist with restocking and unpacking
Merchandising
- Create attractive and clean displays
- Demonstrate products (makeovers, spray promotions, etc.)
- Accurately label and price goods
- Help meet sales targets across multiple vendors and brands
Customer Service
- Provide professional and helpful customer service
- Process payments at the Cosmetics Point of Sale (POS)
- Answer customer queries and guide them without being forceful
Competencies & Skills
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills
- Sales target awareness
- Good command of English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Self-motivated and trustworthy
- Basic financial and customer understanding
- Computer literacy
Special Conditions
- South African citizen
- Clear criminal and credit record (MIE check)
- Must be willing and able to work flexible retail hours
