General Assistants
Introduction
Vaal Central Water is seeking General Assistants to join its Caledon River division in Dewetsdorp, Free State. If you are passionate about contributing to the efficient delivery of water services while maintaining a clean and safe working environment, this opportunity is for you.

Key Responsibilities
- Wash and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Assist with repairs and maintenance on bulk or other pipelines, including excavation, replacement, bedding, and filling.
- Conduct weekly inspections and reporting on pipelines, manholes, and reservoirs.
- Maintain cleanliness at pump stations in the region.
- Assist with repairs and maintenance on pumps, valves, and plant equipment.
- Perform general duties, including welding, trench digging, cleaning, painting, grass cutting, tree felling, sewer line unblocking, sewer plant maintenance, terrain maintenance, and gardening.
- Ensure compliance with company regulations and policies.
- Wear and maintain required safety gear at all times.
- Observe and follow all safety protocols and procedures.
- Perform additional assignments as directed.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10.
- Knowledge of treatment plants and pump stations (advantageous).
- Valid Driver’s License (advantageous).
